Approximately 15 years ago, I first visited Fiuggi, Italy, the town where my Grandmother was born and from which she emigrated, as did so many others, in the early 20th century. While she and my grandfather never again saw their native Italy, I have returned over and over to explore this beautiful land and to rediscover the family they left behind. After years of bringing friends and family to enjoy my Italy, I left my work as a manager in New York City and moved to Fiuggi for two years. That was a major turning point in my life. Since then I divide each year between Italy and New York City.
I have had the joy of traveling widely throughout the peninsula from my home base of Fiuggi, a well known spa resort. Famous from ancient times for the curative power of its drinking water Fiuggi is a beautiful little city just an hour outside of Rome. Last year I joined Destinazione Fiuggi, our local destination management company, as its US Representative. Our mission is to introduce others to this wonderful area, full of important archeological ruins, historical sites and natural beauty. Though we are located so close to Rome, most Americans are unfamiliar with the area; for those looking to find an authentic Italian experience it is ideal. My small group trips generally involve sometime in Fiuggi giving all who participate a special look at Italian life in my home town. I created my consulting service TRAVEL ITALY NOW as a means to share my experience and enthusiasm for all of Italy with those travelers who hope to see a bit of the country they might not find on their own.
As a travel consultant I have put to use my years of management and organizing experience to plan wonderful Italian experiences for individual travelers and small groups.
I have designed romantic get aways for two, family trips to ancestral hometowns, sightseeing trips from Venice to the Amalfi Coast and all points in between. My special interest has been in finding those wonderful places just a bit off the normal tourist trails. Places where one can slow down a bit and enjoy "la vita italiana".
My aim is to design a complete travel experience so that you may discover and share with your family and friends the beauty, warmth and culture of this extraordinary country.
